OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A spokeswoman for the American Indian Cultural Center and Museum says a $40 million bond proposal to help pay for construction of the museum in Oklahoma City is dead in the state Senate.Â
Shoshana Wasserman says museum executive director Gena Timberman learned Wednesday that Senate Bill 980 won't be heard during thecurrent legislative session. A spokesman for Senate President Pro Tem Brian Bingman says other funding options for the museum are being considered but wouldn't specify what those options might be.
A spokesman for House Speaker Kris Steele says the House won't consider the bond proposal unless the Senate first approves it. The $40 million was to be used to help complete work on the $177.5 million project along the Oklahoma River in Oklahoma City.
