OKDome_008reducedOKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Lawmakers have brought an early `end' to the 2011 legislative session, but left open the possibility of returning next week to take care of any unfinished business or make minor changes to bills passed in the waning days.

The House and Senate both approved a resolution on Friday indicating they had completed their work and intended to adjourn the session one week before the constitutionally required deadline of May 27.

Under the measure, the Speaker of the House and President Pro Tem of the Senate could agree to reconvene the session next week. This year was the first in state history that Republicans controlled the House, Senate and governor's office, and GOP leaders touted major changes to the state's civil justice and workers' compensation systems, and shoring up state pensions.
