Nichols questions agencies about revolving funds, admin costs

Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and Judiciary Chairman Jonathan Nichols questioned agency leaders Thursday about the use of their revolving fund and their administrative costs.

Nichols, R-Norman, asked why the Office of the State Fire Marshal was not using its revolving fund to address the turnaround time for building reviews.  And, he asked the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System whether it truly needed a deputy director making $100,000 when other agencies have cut administrative personnel.

The questions came during Thursday morning’s budget review meeting. The subcommittee will reconvene at 1 p.m. to continue reviews.  For the full story go to www.ecapitol.net
