Enns’ bill would require vehicle handles

Rep. John Enns, R-Waukomis, has filed a bill that would require vehicles sold in Oklahoma to have driver’s side handles to assist disabled and elderly drivers entering and exiting their vehicles.

Enns, who is himself confined to a wheel chair, filed HB 2418 to address the fact that newer model pickups and sports utility vehicles do not have the handles. He said he has also spoken to paralyzed veterans who support his bill. For the full story go to www.ecapitol.net
